Hawke's Bay Flood Observation Extents

This layer indicates the extent of major weather event flooding from analysis based on information such as photographs, videos, satellite photos, local council building inspection information and ground contours.

The extents have been prepared based on the best information available to the councils and may be subject to change at any time as new information becomes available. The map show extents only, not depth. Any extents plotted which encompass a building footprint does not necessarily indicate that building was flooded.

The information contained in the map is limited in accuracy in many places, and cannot be relied on or substituted for a site-specific investigation. The map should not be relied upon as the sole basis for making any decision in relation to potential risk. You are advised to seek your own independent advice from a suitably qualified person as to the potential implications for a property.

This data is a collaborative effort by Central Hawke's Bay District Council, Hastings District Council, Hawke's Bay Regional Council, Napier City Council, and Wairoa District Council.
