Studies on mechanisms of the escape response of the common strain black carp (Cyprinus carpio var. baisenensis)

The fish escape response is a kind of stress responses induced by various environmental factors such as rapid water flow and low oxygen. In Europe, frequent escape events of sea bream, Atlantic salmon, cod, and other fish not only cause huge economic losses, but also put strong competitive pressure on local wild fish, leading to a continued decline in the fitness of wild fish populations. This study focused on the common strain black carp, which owned the low-escape response property. The multi-omics analysis was applied to unravel the mechanisms behind the low-escape response property of the common strain black carp.
