Glaciers and Their Meltwater Changes in the Beida River Basin of the Qilian Mountains, China from 1985 to 2100: A Study Based on Remote Sensing and Modeling

Here, the data used in the paper "Glaciers and Their Meltwater Changes in the Beida River Basin of the Qilian Mountains, China from 1985 to 2100: A Study Based on Remote Sensing and Modeling" are provided. In this database, the folder "1_Glacier_outlines" contains glacier outline data for the Beida River Basin at 5-year intervals from 1985 to 2025. The folder "2_Glacier_surface_elevation_change" contains glacier surface elevation change data for 2000–2014, derived from the SRTM DEM and Copernicus GLO-30 DEM. The folders "3_History_accumulation", "4_History_ablation", "5_History_massbalance", and "6_History_meltwater" contain the spatial distributions of glacier accumulation, ablation, mass balance, and meltwater volume in the study area from 1985 to 2023, calculated using the degree-day model. The units and basin-wide mean values of these variables are provided in "7_History_Accumulation_Ablation_Balance.xlsx" and "8_History_Meltwater.xlsx". The folders "9_Project_accumulation", "10_Project_ablation", "11_Project_massbalance", and "12_Project_meltwater" contain the projected spatial distributions of glacier accumulation, ablation, mass balance, and meltwater volume in the study area from 2024 to 2100 under three climate scenarios of SSP1-1.9, SSP2-4.5, and SSP5-8.5. These projections were also generated using the degree-day model. The units and basin-wide mean values are provided in "13_Project_Accmulation_Ablation_Balance.xlsx" and "14_Project_Meltwater.xlsx".
