Determination of the stress-induced magnetic order in Sr2RuO4

Sr2RuO4 is a very well-studied correlated-electron material, in part because it can be prepared to extremely high quality, and also because it has superconductivity whose origin remains a near-complete mystery. Under uniaxial stress, the electronic structure of Sr2RuO4 is first driven through a Lifshitz transition at which Tc peaks sharply, and then magnetic order is induced. The structure of that magnetic phase is not known. One proposal for the superconductivity is that it originates from local interactions, and so is not too sensitive to the Fermi surface structure. It is therefore important to determine whether this magnetic order does correspond to known Fermi surface nesting wave vectors, or something unexpected.
