Electrically regenerable carbon adsorbents for CO₂ capture

Carbon based adsorbents are being investigated due to their potential application in a novel adsorption process called electrical swing adsorption (ESA). ESA is based on the realization that rapid and uniform desorption can be achieved by passing an electrical current through the carbon adsorbent, potentially leading to improvements in cycle-time and efficiency.
