Whole genome sequencing of the Sphaerochaeta sp. PS.This strain was isolated in 1990 from the sediment of liquid pig manure storage of a pig farm in the northern part of Crimea (41.40338, 2.17403), sampled from 6 m depth, where the temperature at the bottom was 4C in winter and did not exceed 20C in summer. This bacterium was satellite of psychrotolerant methanosarcina, enriched from that sample at 10C. The cells are pleomorphic, bacterium is fermentative, grows at 2-30C with optimum 20-30C, pH range 5.5-8.5, optimum 6.8-7.0. G+C content 49.2 mol%. Products from glucose are acetate, ethanol, H2 and CO2.
