Scytonema sp. PRP1 Genome sequencing and assembly

The Boyle Lab has uncovered evidence suggestive of cyanobacterial contamination from single cell MALBAC library amplification of human neurons. Despite initial challenges in pinpointing the precise identity of this microorganism, an analytical approach involving adapter trimming, hybrid assembly, genome evaluation, annotation, and stringent filtration procedures was employed. Our study conclusively identifies this cyanobacterial entity as a member of the Scytonema genus, exhibiting closest affinity with the NIES-4073 species.
