资源简介:
Genome data derived from a work published as: Taylor, C. R., et al. "Isolation of bacterial strains able to metabolize lignin from screening of environmental samples." Journal of applied microbiology 113.3 (2012): 521-530. The aim was to develop a method to detect bacteria from environmental samples that are able to metabolize lignin. As result, nine mesophilic strains were isolated from woodland soil incubated in enrichment cultures containing wheat straw lignocellulose: four Microbacterium isolates, two Micrococcus isolates, Rhodococcus erythropolis (all Actinobacteria) and two Ochrobactrum isolates (Alphaproteobacteria). The isolated strain Microbacterium phyllosphaerae was used for genome sequencing analysis. The significance in obtaining a whole genome of a lignin‐degrading bacterial is that it could be used to investigate novel biochemical pathways and enzymes involved in the convertion of lignin, which could led to the development of technologies to tranform lignin-containing feedstocks into renewable chemicals.
