RUS-refDB

RUS-refDB is a collection of protein sequences from rumen associated microorganisms, and the main purpose was to utilize it as a database for a rumen metaproteomic dataset. This comprises MAGs from metagenome recovered from rumen-incubated switchgrass enrichments (Hess <i>et al</i>. doi:10.1126/science.1200387 and Parks <i>et al</i>. doi: 10.1038/s41564-017-0012-7). We further included 11 genomes from GeneBank and the Hungate1000 project: <i>Bacillus licheniformis</i> strain, <i>Butyrivibrio fibrisolvens</i>, <i>Prevotella ruminicola </i>(2 strains), <i>P. brevis</i>, <i>P. bryantii</i> strain, <i>Ruminococcus albus</i> strain, <i>R. flavefaciens</i> (4 strains), <i>Fibrobacter succinogenes</i> and <i>Methanobrevibacter ruminantium</i> and the genomes of the five cultivated anaerobic fungi available at the time (~2018); <i>Anaeromyces robustus</i>, <i>Neocallimastix californiae</i> G1, <i>Orpinomyces</i> sp., <i>Piromyces</i> sp. E2 and <i>Piromyces finnis</i>, downloaded from MycoCosm (https://mycocosm.jgi.doe.gov). Viral scaffolds were also included in the database.<br>
