PFTs_XGB FLUX is a global carbon cycle dataset based on the XGBoost machine learning model. This dataset classifies global plant functional types (PFTs), integrates in-situ observational data from FLUXNET, AmeriFlux and ICOS flux sites, as well as satellite remote sensing and meteorological data, to deliver more accurate carbon cycle estimations. The PFTs_XGB FLUX dataset covers the period from 2000 to 2023, with a spatial resolution of 0.1° × 0.1° and a monthly temporal resolution, and provides key carbon cycle variables including Gross Primary Productivity (GPP), Net Ecosystem Exchange (NEE) and Ecosystem Respiration (RECO). Compared with existing datasets such as FLUXCOM, PFTs_XGB FLUX has demonstrated remarkable improvements in site validation and overall performance.
