Census of Governments, 2002

<p>This data collection contains the Census of Governments' 2002 government finance, employment, and organization files. The government financial data covers the entire range of government financial activities, such as revenue, expenditure, debt, and assets. The collection contains a series of tables and files that provide users with comprehensive statistical information about state and local government economic activity. The government organization data cover each of the 87,525 local governments in the United States, as well as the 1,508 school systems that are dependent upon their state or local governments. The governments are broken down by type; for example, general-purpose, county, municipal, town or township, and special-purpose local governments.</p>
