资源简介:
The Trait Profiler Jungian Preference Scale (TP-JPS) dataset comprises responses collected from 105 adult participants using a 64-item self-report instrument designed to assess personality preferences based on Jungian typology. The TP-JPS evaluates individual differences across four bipolar dimensions: Extraversion–Introversion (E–I), Sensing–Intuition (S–N), Thinking–Feeling (T–F), and Judging–Perceiving (J–P). Each dimension reflects a fundamental orientation in cognition, perception, judgment, and interaction with the external world, allowing researchers to explore both categorical personality types and dimensional preference strengths.
The dataset contains detailed item-level responses on a 1–5 Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree, 5 = Strongly Agree), representing participants’ degree of agreement with behaviorally anchored statements corresponding to each pole of the four bipolar dimensions. Each dimension includes 16 items, balanced between positive and reverse-keyed items to minimize response biases such as acquiescence or socially desirable responding. This design ensures that responses reflect authentic behavioral tendencies and cognitive preferences rather than superficial self-evaluation.
In addition to raw item responses, the dataset provides calculated raw scores for each dimension pole (e.g., E_Score, I_Score), paired-dimension percentages (e.g., E_Percent, I_Percent), and categorical type classifications (Type_Code) based on dominant poles. The paired-dimension scoring approach emphasizes the competitive nature of opposing preferences, aligning with Jungian theoretical assumptions that preference for one pole implies relative de-emphasis of the other. Preference percentages allow for nuanced interpretation, capturing the strength and clarity of each individual’s orientation along a continuum, rather than reducing personality to rigid dichotomous categories. This enables the identification of strong, moderate, or balanced profiles, reflecting situational flexibility and adaptive behavioral tendencies.
Demographic variables included in the dataset provide additional context for interpretation. Participants’ age, gender, highest education level, country of residence, occupation, self-reported familiarity with personality assessments, and consent status are recorded to facilitate descriptive analyses, subgroup comparisons, and exploratory correlations. These variables support investigation of potential patterns in personality preferences across different demographic groups, enhancing the dataset’s applicability for research in educational, organizational, and psychological contexts.
The TP-JPS dataset is intended for research, educational, and psychometric validation purposes. Researchers can use it to examine internal consistency, evaluate item discrimination, explore score distributions, and investigate relationships between personality preferences and demographic factors.
