Transcriptome of control and SfNPV treated Spodoptera frugiperda female moths

Most of the studies investigating the changes in transcriptome following baculovirus infection have been conducted during larval stage of the insect. We wanted to study the transcriptome changes following baculoviral infection at the adult stage since adult moths surviving the sub-lethal baculoviral infections are known to exhibit a reduction in fertility. The molecular basis of the loss/reduction in fertility is not well understood. Thus, we have conducted transcriptome sequencing of control and SfNPV infected adult female moths of Spodoptera frugiperda in order to study the gene expression changes following baculoviral infection at the adult stage.
