资源简介:
Seawater temperature and sea level pressure data are obtained from the DECMAR station, consisting of two tide gauges moored in Colatinas, at Deception Island. These tide gauges have recorded data since 2012, and continuously since 2016. The data are collected annually, during the austral summer. Each tide gauge is an AQUAlogger520 sensor and is programmed to obtain 3 data (at 5-second intervals) every 20 minutes, with a time difference between them of 10 minutes. Thus, there are seawater temperature and sea level pressure data at Deception Island every 10 minutes. The data provided are raw, not processed. The two tide gauges are moored at 10-m depth and are tied to fixed anchors in the rock of Colatinas with two climbing ropes. This methodology has proven to be the best in terms of adverse winter weather conditions. This allows long-term data records with no gaps.
GEO2OCEAN project is responsible for the recording and maintenance of geodetic, geothermal, and oceanographic time series at Deception and Livingston Islands. The geodetic time series began in 1991, the geothermal time series in 2011, and the oceanographic time series in 2012. This activity is led by Dr. Manuel Berrocoso Domínguez of the University of Cadiz (Spain).
