Portable Single-Channel EEG and Self-Report Dataset from Children with ADHD During Educational Gameplay

This dataset contains the data underlying the study investigating portable single-channel electroencephalography (EEG) responses during educational gameplay in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Seven children diagnosed with ADHD completed nine educational games from the Kokoro Kids platform while frontal EEG activity was recorded using a Macrotellect BrainLink Pro headset. Following each game, participants completed a brief paper-based questionnaire assessing their subjective gameplay experience. The dataset includes participant-level EEG-derived indices (Attention, Relaxation, Appreciation, Mental Effort, and Familiarity), normalized questionnaire responses, participant identifiers, game identifiers, and descriptive metadata. A README file is provided to document the variables, questionnaire items, response scales, and preprocessing procedures. All data have been fully anonymized. Written informed consent was obtained from the participants' legal guardians, and the study was approved by the Deontological Commission of Universitat Jaume I (approval number CD/83/2022). Consent was also obtained for the publication of non-identifiable photographs for scientific dissemination purposes. These data are shared to promote transparency, reproducibility, and secondary analyses of portable EEG measurements in educational and cognitive intervention research involving children with ADHD.
