资源简介:
The swelling pressure of clayey soil is a phenomenon that influences the stability and performance of structures built on it. This phenomenon occurs as the clayey soil undergoes volume changes in response to fluctuations in water content. In the laboratory, experiments have been conducted to determine the maximum swelling pressure of clayey soil as well as its other parameter, aiming to ensure the long-term safety and integrity of structures. This study introduces a dataset featuring maximum swelling pressure values obtained from 759 compacted soil samples. The dataset has been carefully compiled from 16 peer-reviewed articles published between 1994 and 2022. The dataset includes fundamental soil index properties, covering both the physical and chemical aspects, along with the initial and boundary conditions. Considering their significant potential for swelling, the dataset includes information on clay, bentonite, and a mixture of bentonite in both natural and laboratory-engineered states. Different swelling test methods, including zero swelling, swell-consolidation, restrained swell, double-oedometer, free swelling, constant volume oedometer, UPC-isochoric cell, isochoric oedometer, and consolidometer, were employed to measure the maximum swelling pressure of the clayey soils. The dataset serves as a valuable tool for comprehending the intricate interplay between soil properties and swelling behaviour, facilitating further research and contributing to advancements in the fields of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering.
