The vampire squid, Vampiroteuthis infernalis, is a very interesting organism for studying the nature of deep-sea hypoxic adaptation and the evolutionary process of primitive cephalopods. Whole genome analysis using long reads was performed in cooperation with the Platform for Advanced Genome Science (PAGS), JAPAN.
