Clinical Features, Antimicrobial Susceptibility Patterns and Genomics of Bacteria Causing Neonatal Sepsis in a Children's Hospital in Vietnam

A prospective observational study to characterise the clinical and microbiological features of neonatal sepsis in a major children's hospital in Ho Chi Minh City was conducted. Bacteria was isolated from the blood samples of the neonates and subjected to whole genome sequencing. The clinical variables, outcomes, genome composition and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) gene content of different bacterial species were compared. Whole-genome sequences were analysed to investigate phylogenetic relationships.
