In automated food processing, shrimp segmentation technology can be utilized for automatic sorting and classification on production lines, enhancing production efficiency and product quality. For shrimp population research, segmentation data assists scientists in analyzing individual size, quantity, and other information of shrimp, providing support for resource assessment and the formulation of conservation strategies.
1. Data Source: Shrimp images are captured via high-definition imaging equipment installed in aquaculture farms.
2. Data Preprocessing: Denoising processing is conducted on the captured images; image contrast is enhanced; brightness and contrast are adjusted to improve image quality.
3. Data Processing: Contour and morphological features of shrimp are extracted from the images, including key indicators such as body length, carapace length, and the number of abdominal segments. The UNet image segmentation algorithm is employed for target detection, and the segmentation results are stored with pixel-level accuracy, with each pixel labeled as "shrimp". The system calculates the number of detected shrimp in the image and records the data in the field named "shrimp count". Optional pose estimation of shrimp can also be performed to determine the health status or growth stage of the shrimp.
