The dataset includes 50 surface seawater (3m) metagenomics samples collected monthly (2009-2011 and 2014-2015) at the SOLA station in the Bay of Banyuls sur Mer (France) in the northwestern Mediterranean. Samples were prefiltered on 3 μm filters and collected on 0.22 μm filters. Paired-end reads (2x100pb) sequencing was done with an Illumina NovaSeq 6000.
