Through the short time and high Cd concentration treatment on two Brassica parachinensis cultivars, the mRNA and small RNA transcriptomes changes and relationship were investigated on roots and leaves just after the Cd concentration in shoots reached saturation. These genome-wide study reflected effect of Cd on roots and leaves in different cultivars, and the response strategies of the B. parachinensis plants with high or low accumulation of Cd were also discussed. Our results hope to give a landscape of interactive relationship between Cd and B. parachinensis, and provide the theoretical foundation to breed the food-safe Brassica crops or soil Cd phytoremediation rapes.
