资源简介:
Southern corn rust caused by the fungal pathogen Puccinia polysora Underw is a prevalent foliar disease that affects maize production. Jing2418 is a southern corn rust-resistant inbred line and it is derived from the sensitive inbred line Jing2416 which has been used to produce more than 20 corn hybrid varieties in China. In the Jing2416/Jing2418 F2 population, 25% of F2 plants were sensitive to southern corn rust, suggesting that southern corn rust resistance was controlled by a single dominant gene, named RppJing2418. The RNAs of sensitive plant pool and resistant plant pool of two F2 populations, Jing2416/Jing2418 and Jing724/Jing2418, were used to perform BSR-seq assay for mapping and cloning RppJing2418. RppJing2418 gene was mapped in the short arm of chromosome 10 where there is an NBS-LRR gene cluster including corn common rust-resistant gene, Rp1-D.
