This database is created and used for the article "Artificial Intelligence: Catalyst or Barrier on the Path to Sustainability?" (Kopka & Grashof, 2021). It combines various datasets on the NUTS-3 level (yearly regional industrial energy consumption between 2005 and 2018 in Germany, AI-related patents, green patents, the centrality of regions and some control variables).
