"Ten rough-toothed dolphins (Steno bredanensis) that mass-stranded in the Florida Keys in March 2005 were rehabilitated, tagged, and released in three different efforts, during April, May, and September, 2005. Along with an untagged dolphin, one of the dolphins was tagged and released by the Marine Animal Rescue Society (MARS) in Miami, Florida on 20 April 2005. Nine other dolphins were tagged and released by the Marine Mammal Conservancy (MMC), Key Largo, Florida. Seven of these were releasedon 3 May 2005, and two more were released on 12 September, 2005. Small VHF transmitters were attached for direct radio-tracking to all nine of the dolphins released by MMC. Five dolphins weretagged with satellite-linked transmitters, four of these were tags that provided dive data in addition to location"--Executive summary, paragraph 1. by Randall S. Wells, Greg A.
