The goals of the study includes he development and implementation of a microfluidic device technology platform to dissociate tissues into suspensions of single cells. Single cell RNA sequencing was performed on murine kidney and breast tumor tissue to evaluate the proportion of different cell populations that were recovered. The device platform produced significantly total cell numbers, with higher percentages of endothelial cells, fibroblasts, and basal endothelium.
