Volume of plant-based foods and drinks sold in Spain in 2020, by type

Consumption of plant-based products has been growing in Spain the last few years. Plant-based beverages, which made up most of the revenue of plant-based products sold in Spain in 2020, are especially popular among consumers. This means that beverages not only created more revenue, but also produced much more volume than for example other product types like meat substitutes or desserts. Meat substitutes sales amounted to less than seven million kilograms, meaning less than half of yoghurts and desserts, even though meat substitutes generated more revenue.
