This study obtained the complex downstream functional genes (CHS, CHR, CHI, UGT) responsible for the main flavonoids biosynthesis, upstream genes (PAL, C4H, 4CL) and characterize the above. Thus, the biosynthetic pathway was comprehensively analyzed. Then it was transformed into Saccharomyces cerevisiae by modular engineering, which would realize the heterologous synthesis of the main flavonoids of licorice.
