Geotrichum candidum (teleomorph = Galactomyces candidus) strain CLIB 918 (ATCC 204307). This is a wild isolate from french Pont l'Eveque cheese. This study provides information on the evolution of Saccharomycotina yeasts and describes the unsual content of the genome of an important species involved in cheese making and in various biotechnologies.
