<br>*********************************************************************************<br>* Supplementary Data - *<br>* Does Economic Inequality Moderate the Effect of Class on Prosocial Behavior? *<br>* A Large-Scale Test of a recent Hypothesis by Côté et al. *<br>*********************************************************************************<br><br>To provide a full overview over our analyses, we provide all syntaxes in the <br>attached files.<br><br>All analyses were conducted using Stata 15.1. <br> <br>Final data sets for all analyses, comprising the truncated ESS-files as well <br>as all auxiliary data, can be found in the respective folders ('Analyses'). <br><br>Data preparation for the final ESS1 and ESS6 file can be reconstructed using <br>the syntaxes in the (respective) folder of the same name. To this end, the <br>original ESS-data files (ESS1e06_5.dta and ESS6e02_3.dta) need to be downloaded <br>from the Homepage of the European Social Survey (www.europeansocialsurvey.org). <br><br>The comparison of Gini coefficients between NUTS-regions and US states from Fig4<br>can be reproduced in the 'C_Gini comparison' folder. <br><br>Second-level auxiliary data (general variance of age, sex, foreigners,<br>as well as the population size, average income and the degree of urbanity per region) <br>can be traced in the 'D_Macro data' folder. All Eurostat datasets have been converted <br>from tsv to xls format as part of the data prepration. <br><br>
