Dysplastic nevi are risk indicators and precursors of melanoma. The genetic alterations underlying their phenotype are unknown and there is a lack of concordance in their clinical management. We sequenced 79 dysplastic nevi from patients aged 9-87 years and compared their mutation patterns to those of melanoma.
