资源简介:
This study investigates a mass mortality event involving migratory birds at Dalinor Lake, Inner Mongolia, China, in 2018. Using metagenomic sequencing and histopathological analysis, we identified Mycobacterium species as potential pathogens responsible for the outbreak, marking one of the rare instances of tuberculosis-associated mass deaths in wild bird populations. This research aims to elucidate the role of Mycobacterium in avian diseases, expand our understanding of its host range, and emphasize the need for heightened surveillance of zoonotic pathogens in wildlife. The findings contribute to the broader understanding of emerging infectious diseases and their implications for biodiversity and public health.
