Tram and light rail users in Zaragoza represented the highest number of users per rail kilometer in Spain with over 162 million passengers per kilometer. Other metropolitan areas such as Madrid and Barcelona presented approximately 91 and 78 million annual passengers per kilometer of tram and light rail, respectively.
