Progress in the study of mechanisms related to cellular pyroptosis in rheumatoid arthritis

Rheumatoid Arthritis(RA) is an autoimmune disease characterised by synovial inflammatory hyperplasia and destruction of bone and cartilage, which leads to pain and severe or even disability. Pyroptosis is a type of programmed cell death, which is mainly characterised by membrane perforation, cell swelling and the release of large amounts of pro-inflammatory factors. The development of RA is closely related to pyroptosis, which can occur in a wide range of cells such as synovial macrophages, fibroblasts, and chondrocytes in RA, leading to the further development of RA. This paper reviews the molecular mechanisms of pyroptosis in different cells in RA, and provides ideas for research to explore the treatment of RA.
