Incubation_MgSrisotope_ZD

This dataset includes porewater stable Mg and Sr isotope compositions (δ²⁶Mg and δ⁸⁸/⁸⁶Sr) and carbonate-fraction Mg, Ca, and Sr contents derived from a two-year sediment incubation experiment. Sediments were collected from the Severn Estuary catchment (51°37'53.1"N, 2°38'52.1"W). Porewater and sediment samples were retrieved to investigate geochemical and isotopic changes during early sediment diagenesis and authigenic mineral formation. Porewater samples were analysed for stable Mg and Sr isotope compositions, reported as δ²⁶Mg relative to DSM-3 and δ⁸⁸/⁸⁶Sr relative to NIST SRM 987. Sediment samples underwent sequential leaching, and the carbonate fraction was analysed for Mg, Ca, and Sr contents to assess carbonate-fraction dissolution during incubation.
