These data were chosen with input and guidance from conservation professionals that are knowledgeable about priority wildlife, habitats and landscapes in east Texas. This prioritization integrates four key datasets: </p><ul><li><p style='margin-bottom:10.5pt; margin-right:0in; margin-top:0in;'>A 2023 updated open-pine priority bird model, focusing on three species: brown-headed nuthatch (<span style='font-size:12.5pt;'><i><span style='line-height:106%;'>Sitta pusilla</span></i></span><i>)</i>, Bachman’s sparrow (<span style='font-size:12.5pt;'><i><span style='line-height:106%;'>Peucaea</span></i><span style='line-height:106%;'> </span><i><span style='line-height:106%;'>aestivalis</span></i></span>), and red-cockaded woodpecker (<span style='font-size:12.5pt;'><i><span style='line-height:106%;'>Leuconotopicus borealis</span></i></span>). </p></li><li><p style='margin-bottom:11.05pt; margin-right:0in; margin-top:0in;'>A longleaf pine-specific digital soils layer derived from USDA’s Soil Survey Geographic database (SSURGO) that has been evaluated as appropriate for longleaf pine-specific suitability restoration. </p></li><li><p style='margin-bottom:10.5pt; margin-right:0in; margin-top:0in;'>An observational occurrence geospatial grid for eastern wild turkey (<span style='font-size:12.5pt;'><i><span style='line-height:106%;'>Meleagris gallopavo silvestris</span></i></span><i>) </i>that documents species observations over time (2020-24). </p></li><li><p style='margin-bottom:11.05pt; margin-right:0in; margin-top:0in;'>A proximity-based suitability layer prioritizing areas near existing longleaf pine forests that will function as anchor sites on which new restoration should be focused around. </p></li></ul><p style='margin-bottom:11.2pt;'>These datasets were normalized, weighted, and analyzed using neighborhood analysis to produce a geospatial prioritization map. </p><p style='margin-bottom:11.2pt;'>For more detailed methodology, visit our website at: https://www.lmvjv.org/conservation-delivery-networks</p>
