A new method for noninvasive genetic sampling of saliva in ecological research

The dataset contains the results of an experiment that measures rates of species identification success and individual identification success using DNA extracted from dog saliva samples. Dog saliva was obtained from different porous materials handled by captive dogs. Porous substrates were covered with an edible bait to make them attractive to dogs.
