"Abstract\u2014In this study, a method to locate and track anobject with unknown dynamics in a general three-dimensionalindoor environment is presented. To that end, one-dimensional(1D) angle-of-arrival (AOA) measurements deduced from WiFisignals susceptible to multipath interference are utilized. First,the AOAs are measured at sevenWiFi-receivers, which are gettingthe signal from the object to be tracked. The locus of each 1DAOAestimation for each WiFi receiver forms a cone whoseaxis coincides with the receiver axis. Second, and instead ofusing sophisticated tracking methods like the hybrid-extended-Kalman-filter, in this study the localization\/tracking processis performed using a simple linear operation. Moreover, theCramer-Rao-Lower-Bound (CRLB) and the error propagation ofthe resulting tracking system model are derived. The effectivenessof the proposed system is demonstrated via simulation and itsperformance is assessed using the CRLB."
