Uricase or Xanthine Oxidase inhibitors are the few choices worldwide to treat. The severe adverse effects associated with current medication necessitates a paradigm shift to explore uricase as the choice of treatment for the refractory gout (treatment failure gout) and tumor lysis syndrome. The present study focused on selective isolation of microbes with potential to produce uricase from the soils using i-Chip technology. Among several isolates, one of them designated as I4-RSP revealed highest expression of native uricase with a zone of clearance of 18mm on uric acid agar plate. The sequencing analysis revealed that the strain showed 80% matches to Delftia tsuruhatensis. Uricase in this isolate is constitutive and extracellular in nature.
