Coding Appendix: Codebook and Coding Matrix for 18 Cruise-Line Sustainability Claims (2025 Reports)

Codebook and full coding matrix for 18 environmental sustainability claims on water use, wastewater treatment, and food waste from the 2025 sustainability reports of Royal Caribbean Group, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, and Carnival Corporation. Each claim was coded against five indicators of verifiability: vagueness, lack of deadline, lack of baseline, lack of external verification, and thematic selectivity. The appendix also documents the selection criteria, report-level coding of local context and thematic selectivity, and the limitations of single-coder analysis.
