本計畫利用蓮華池試驗林中劣化或生長停滯的杉木林,調查杉木林分及地被植物等現況,確認杉木林分生長狀況不佳。劃定試區施行水平帶狀行列及塊狀適度整理,進行萌芽更新,砍伐帶栽植山茶、咖啡等,做為「林下經濟」作業方式探討,評估林下栽種短期收益作物之可行性及經濟效益,及對留存木生長之影響。栽植之台灣山茶與咖啡歷經4個生長季,已呈現生長差異,兩作物皆以100%伐採區苗高及地徑生長量為最大,0%疏伐區生長量為最小;疏伐作業後各處理林下光度仍維持高低不同的差異。疏伐留存木生長監測結果變化不大,需要較長時間資料比較。
The study was conducted on a degraded Large-leaved China fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata (Lamb.) Hook.) stand in Lienhuachih experimental forest. We investigated the situation of Large-leaved China fir stands and ground cover plants, and confirmed that the Large-leaved China fir stands are not growing well.
We established the test area by strip felling, and planting Camellia formosensis and coffee to study on the operation methods of " under-forest economy " and evaluated the feasibility and economics of planting short-term income crops under the forest. In addition, we also evaluated the impact on the growth of reserved wood.
The camellia and coffee have shown growth differences after 4 growing seasons. Both crops have the maximum seedling height and ground diameter growth in 100% felling area and the smallest growth in 0% thinning area. The growth monitoring of reserved woods have not changed much, it mihgt be to take a longer time.
