Greenhouse gas emissions in Canada 2021, by IPCC sector

Canada emitted 670 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO₂e) in 2021, with the energy sector accounting for more than 80 percent of the total. The largest contributor to Canada's GHG emissions in 2021 were stationary combustion sources within the energy sector, which emitted 300 MtCO₂e.
