Nmothers: the minimum number of mothers from which larvae for each group originated. Ndormant: number of larvae surviving to enter dormancy. Lipid concentrations and mass were measured in November, after the post-feeding, pre-winter period in autumn. DM: dry mass. Values for date of dormancy, mass and lipid concentration are mean ± SD, different superscript letters indicate significant differences among treatment groups.
