Polymorphisms in JHE1, JHE2, MOIH, JHEH and HMGR genes and their associations with precocity in Eriocheir sinensis

The Chinese mitten crab, Eriocheir sinensis, is considered an important freshwater fishery resource and is widely farmed in China. In recent years, sexual precocity of E. Sinensis has become a severe problem in cultured populations, which seriously reduces crab production and restricts the sustainable development of this species. In this study, we aimed to identify polymorphisms of the JHE1, JHE2, MOIH, JHEH and HMGR genes and their association with precocity of E. Sinensis using targeted resequencing and multiplex PCR. The samples used in this study were taken from same family and represented two phenotypes from Anhui Province in China, including precocious (n = 63) and normal (n = 67) individuals.
