资源简介:
Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative rod and facultative aerobic, however, this microorganism has better growth under aerobic conditions. They are non-sporulating, immobile bacteria, which produce large, mucoid colonies when grown in nutrient-rich media. When cultivated on MacConkey Agar, it forms pink, shiny and raised colonies. This bacterium has three subspecies: pneumoniae, ozaenae and rhinoscleromatis. It is currently known that it is not only clinical pathogens that serve as a reservoir of antimicrobial resistance genes (ARG), but all environmental and commensal bacteria, and bacteriophages, can constitute an ARG container, or also known as resistome. Through this reservoir, many other bacteria can acquire resistance through horizontal gene transfer (HGT), making the treatment of infections more restricted in terms of choosing the best antibiotic therapy.
