Factors with Dual Roles as Activators and Repressors Regulate Intermediate Expression Levels (PRJCA017602)

We reveal dual transcription factors (TFs), which balance gene expression levels via condensate-forming domains compartmentalizing transcription units. Mutations in these domains, linked to developmental disorders, disrupt this balance. This reveals a mechanism for expression regulation and potential gene expression engineering tools.
