The digital ionosonde is a high-frequency pulse Doppler radar real-time controlled by a computer, and it is an ionospheric sounding instrument developed by the University of Massachusetts Lowell in the United States. It can simultaneously measure multiple parameters of ionospheric echoes including amplitude, phase, time delay, frequency, Doppler shift, wave arrival angle and polarization angle.
