Common bean rhizosphere microbiome through plant development

The study focused on the development of the root-associated microbiome of the common bean grown under field conditions at two locations in Michigan, USA. Two common bean genotypes were selected and sampled at 5-time points across plant development in 2018. Rhizosphere and rhizoplane soil samples were collected from each sample and amplicon sequencing approach was used to investigate the microbiome, targeting the 16S rRNA V4 region (EMP primer set).
