资源简介:
The project aims to reduce sediment load and debris into the Great Sandy Strait through riparian rehabilitation, debris clean up and re-vegetation of the embankments of Mary River and Yabba Creek, a tributary of the Mary River. Work will be undertaken on the south side of Mary River along a 0.8km section downstream from Gympie-Woolooga Road, and on the south side of Yabba Creek.
Some flood debris could be left in place to provide protection to planting areas, however due to the high flood frequency in recent years and extent of impact (up to 30m) they would be cut to smaller sizes and moved away from the stream. Fencing could be used to trap debris in future. Coir matting will be placed on areas where there is active scour/erosion.
