Marine sediment metagenome from Aarhus Bay, Denmark (2021), enriched for dibromophenol dehalogenation capability. This study characterizes a microbial consortium dominated by Desulforhopalus species capable of organohalide respiration through reductive dehalogenation. The assembled genomes represent novel taxa from genera Oceanispirochaeta, Desulfoplanes, Marinifilaceae, and Desulforhopalus, providing insights into marine organohalide respiration pathways.
