Venice's "Gas House," known for its former reputation as headquarters for Southern California's bearded "beatniks" and their women, has been turned into the "culture center of the West," according to manager Wilbur Jerger! It opened Wednesday with art classes for pre-school children. The children will study fingerpainting, drawing and other forms of art that may interest them.
